Floral City is a small, historic town with about 5,800 residents.
Floral city is located in the south eastern side of Citrus County in the lakes region near the Withlacoochee River and Tsala Apopka Lake Chain While Floral City is a tiny town, it is located in close proximity to other larger townships like Inverness and Brooksville.
Many residents live here because they enjoy the rural setting yet don’t live far from booming cities. Orange Avenue runs through the center of Floral City and is one of the county’s most beautiful roads. It is lined with old, giant oak trees the trees making the street look like a tunnel.
The Great Outdoors
There are hundreds of outdoor activities in Floral City including hunting, boating, and fishing on the Tsala Apopka Lakes and Withlacoochee River. For nature enthusiast try some wildlife viewing, hiking, and horseback riding in many of the county’s state parks located near Floral City. Also try biking and skating on the 46 mile long Withlacoochee State Trail, that runs right though the center of floral City.
For the past 33 years Floral City has been home to the famous Strawberry Festival, held annually every March. This old-fashioned festival always proves to be fun for everyone but especially children, children‘s activities consist of games, pageants, crafts, rock climbing and much more.
